Linda Tong studied music at the Conservatoire de Paris in 1970. After a decade of teaching, she embarked into a career in public relations during which she conducted a series of music coordinations for Rotary International’s District Conferences which brought her to Monte Carlo, Singapore, Macao and Shenzhen. In 1993, she teamed up with violinist Shoko Fujioka and guitarist Graeme Morris in playing gypsy and classical music and took part in a series of events for the Cultural & Recr...eational Div., as well as playing for weddings and private functions. In 2002, she joined the Resa Orchestra in Toronto under conductor Resa Kochberg, playing flute 2 for the orchestra. Back in Hong Kong, she participated with the Hong Kong Flute Orchestra in public concerts, playing in the alto-flute section, notably backing Andras Adorjan, Mary Karen Clardy, Robert Aitkens, and most recently with Denis Bouriakov in Singapore. A Renaissance band called “Jongleurs” was formed in 2011 and members of this group were recruited by the “Notsoloud Theatre” to musically back its production of “Ordained By Heaven”. The world premiere of ‘Mountain Song’ composed by Linda was performed during the concert “Convergence” in 2011 at the Sheung Wan Civic Centre Theatre. As a community service, Charlie Linda plays voluntarily for the China Coast Home for senior citizens. Linda resides in the beautiful island of Lantao, and besides music, draws and paints mostly with pastels and watercolours.
