Live music with Steve Starfish on Friday 3rd June 2011 (8pm to 10pm) at Les Boules Cafe Petanque.
Steve Starfish discovered the blues in his teens, and started playing harmonica not too long after. Being a big fan of classic rock which spawned from the blues men of the 40s and before, he started digging deep going back to the roots of accoustic delta blues music.  Coming from a drum and piano backround, studying at the Usdan Center for performing arts, the jump to a wind instrument was an exciting twist.  The Blues Harp as insiders call it, is the closest to the human voice and can be twisted and turned with deep bends to really get out expresion and feeling.  Having played in a number of bands on Long Island, NY and attending blues festivals and workshops on the east coast of the US and in Ontario, Cananda.  Coming to Hong Kong to escape the bitter winters, discovered the great music scene here, and now enjoys playing with some great acts here.  A regular on the Blues Night when the Melting pot was open, and with Tommy Chung former owner and headlining act at the now defunct 48th Street Blues.  A mix of classics and progressive playing taking things to the edge, emulating some current rock and blues acts...
Hope to see you, Steve and Eric.
